Event: Design Night on Duane Street
last wednesday, i checked out this event called design night on duane street. there are some amazing antique funiture and objects stores and art galleries along duane street in tribeca, and this was the night that they collectively set up an open house to celebrate their style and design. it was very well organized and it was such a pleasure to browse through their stores and galleries at a beautiful night. final note. i found project 8's new retail outlet and they said that they are not officially open yet but used the night as "pre-showing" of their store. oh, and the highlight of the night was when i stepped into this gallery and found amazing pieces of original andy warhols. i have this weird thing about andy warhol. every tme i see his original works, i just can't stop looking at them and stay in front of the pieces for about good10 minute or so. i juts have to observe every little thing about each work and i have to carefully look at his signature and how the line of pencil traveling on the paper. whenevr i see his works, i juts have to feel that he really existed by looking closely at his works. but i didn't take pictures of them i always try to remember how they look in my head rather than take actual pictures of them. i know it sounds weird.... anyway, it was such a fun night on duane street.

i am going to marry this store
today, i visited partners and spade at 40 great jones new york, ny 10012. this store is just so good hat i want to marry this store. it rapes your perception of retail store, commercial objects, artcrafts, souvenirs, and "things" in general. it is absolutely better than sex. it just, omg. i can't put it in words. i am still too excited to write about it. all i can say is i am marrying this store, and will have children together.

an amazing art event

i visited RE:FORM SCHOOL in nolita, manhattan. it was this amazingly organized and curated art event, and there were so many people just having fun and enjoying the art. the vibe was awesome. i was even happier to see two of my favorite artists were a part of it to exhibit their amazing art! one was our favorite, Mike Perry. he had two original paintings and two collage works and two objects. i seriously wanted all of them!! especially the objects. they were must amazing. but this time, i purchased one of his paintings for our store, RE:STORE STUIDO. i am sending it to japan soon. can't wait to show people in japan!!! the other artists, were Gold Teeth Brooklyn. we are in LOVE with their enjoyable screen-printed greeting cards. this event was so much fun, and also inspiring. i wish i can organize something like this in japan some days...
