An Exhibition of Kids' Drawings from Japan!

Poster design by: Hiroya Kaya

I am very exited to present this art show,

119 KIDS’ DRAWINGS FROM JAPAN
INSPIRED BY MIKE PERRY

at The POWERHOUSE ARENA in Dumbo, Brookyln from May 24 until June 5, 2011.

It is an exhibition of 119 drawings by 119 students in the third grade in Ryojo Elementary School in Yamaguchi, Japan. The children were provided by a blank piece of paper with an outline of a person’s head inspired by Brooklyn-base artist, Mike Perry’s screen print titled, A Few Thoughts (2009). They were instructed to draw and color whatever and however they want in the head.

I would like to thank Mike Perry for giving us support and continuous inspiration!

Also, I would like to thank Hiroya Kaya, an amazingly talented illustrator and designer based in Hiroshima, Japan for designing the poster for us.

Last, but not least, I would like to give HUGE thank-you for Craig from The POWERHOUSE ARENA for giving us such an amazing opportunity for presenting this exhibition at his venue.

I am so fortunate to be able to work and get inspired by these cool and creative talents!

I hope you enjoy the cute and amazing drawings by
the children from Japan!
