chelsea well-marketed

as market research, i visited chelsea market at meatpacking district. the market was as delightful as it has always been. so many kids with family and very very cozy vibe. perfect place to visit on weekends with your friends and family. what surprised me, however, was the amount of people around the area. now that we've got apple store on the corner of 14th street and 9th ave, there were so many i mean, too many people on the street and for a spilt second, it reminded me of broadway in soho on weekend, which now i think about it, is a nightmare came to life. i mean, when i was in college, my first internship was at this office in meatpacking district about 7 years ago. at the time, the area was still developing and the streets were way more quiet than now. it was low-profiled area. it was 7 years ago, yep. now, in 2010, with new establishments marching its developments, such as high-line park, standard hotel and all the other commercial retail outlets, the area has lost its edgy-ness, which is fine, but to me, its time to say good-bye to the area, if you know what i mean. but i can tell you this, though. if the city has invested so much on developing the area as another area for the tourist destination, they have been doing a great job on it. they have gotten the result worth every penny. because, i just can' t believe how the area has evolved into this highly commercialized area in 7 years. great job, the city of new york. i can't love the city enough.
